I am
ORDIT Registered for Parts 1, 2 and 3 of the Instructor Training tests.
Below you will find a summary of the ORDIT requirements etc.

The
Official Register of Driving Instructor Training (ORDIT)
Following discussions between the
Driving Standards Agency (DSA) and representatives from the driver
training industry it was agreed that both instructors’ and
the public’s best interests would be served by a single
register or directory of suitably qualified and inspected trainers and
establishments.
The ORDIT register has therefore
been compiled which contains a list of establishments, set out in post
code order, that following inspection by DSA have satisfied the
inspection criteria under the voluntary scheme of minimum training
standards. The link to the directory is above this paragraph.
Those that are seeking approved
driving instructor (ADI) training or retraining can approach any of
these establishments in the confidence that they have reached the
standard set down. Nonetheless, enquirers are advised to contact more
than one establishment and compare what they have to offer in order to
decide which one best suits their needs.
It should be noted however that
DSA’s approval of an organisation and its inclusion in the
ORDIT register is limited to the standard of training being provided.
The Agency does not check an organisation’s financial
standing and inclusion in the register should not be taken as a measure
of its financial stability. Similarly, the Agency has no role in
contractual disputes which are matters for the parties of that contract
to resolve and DSA is therefore unlikely to intervene in such matters.
The entry against each establishment
contains a code, which indicates the level of training offered, which
has satisfied the inspection requirements. Each entry lists the name,
address and telephone number of the establishment, together with the
name of the contact point (normally the person in control who may be
the principal or manager) and the tested trainers, with the elements of
training inspected shown in brackets.
The code against each establishment
entry under the heading “Training Offered”
indicates:
The subjects covered which have
received approval:
If an establishment is offering
courses not listed against their entry, it is likely that these have
not been approved. If you have complaints about the standard of
training you have received from any of the establishments on the
register that you cannot settle with the establishment itself, you may
write to the DSA ORDIT Team, C/O the Driving Standards Agency, Stanley
House, 56 Talbot Street, Nottingham NG1 5GU.
